A powerpack, often known as a power pack, is a component of a modular powertrain that includes an engine of some kind (most commonly an internal combustion engine, though other types, including electric motors, are available), as well as a gearbox and maybe other supporting parts. A powerpack powertrain differs in different kinds due to its modularity. The term “powerpack” implies that the entire unit can be quickly and easily removed or separated from the rest of the machine. At the same time, the original is being repaired or disposed of, minimizing the time the entire device is out of commission.
